This month, Keystone Shops is supporting the Linda Creed Breast Cancer Foundation. This foundation is based in Philadelphia and serves women, men, & their families living across the Delaware Valley. Linda Creed Breast Cancer Foundation has been operational for over two decades, and is funded completely by private sources and granting agencies. It is the first foundation of its kind in Pennsylvania.
Linda Creed, a 37 year old songwriter from Pennsylvania, passed away from breast cancer after a decade long battle with the disease. Her friends and family decided to begin this organization as a way to help uninsured and under-insured women get mammograms and put early detection at the forefront of their goals. Thus far, over 8,000 women have been screened at 15 different hospitals thanks to the Linda Creed Foundation’s tireless efforts. On top of free mammograms, the foundation provides diagnostic testing for women. The goal being to prevent women who lack proper insurance from being a part of the death rate among breast cancer patients.
The Linda Creed Breast Cancer Foundation has helped countless women and aims to help many more in the future. For more information, or to find out how to get a free screening please go to the Linda Creed Breast Cancer Foundation’s website or call them at 215-564-3700.
