Countdown to Midnight Dry-Leaf Celebration!

The state has recently announced that dry leaf will be available in Pennsylvania dispensaries beginning August 1st.

Harrisburg, PA – The Wolf Administration today announced that the dry leaf form of medical marijuana will be phased in at dispensaries starting Aug. 1 at 16 locations and expanding to 28 locations the following week.

“The dry leaf form of medical marijuana provides a cost-effective option for patients, in addition to the other forms of medication already available at dispensaries,” Secretary of Health Dr. Rachel Levine said. “It’s important to note that not all dispensaries will have this medication on Aug. 1 and patients can visit our website at www.medicalmarijuana.pa.gov to see when their local dispensary will have it available. It’s also important to talk with your doctor or the medical professional at the dispensary to see if the dry leaf form of medical marijuana is an option for you. Dispensaries will continue to have other forms of medical marijuana, such as oils, pills, topicals, etc. available.”

Keystone Shops King of Prussia will begin selling flower on August 1st. Keystone Shops Devon will begin selling flower the next week, beginning on August 8th.

Witness history up close and in person tonight as Keystone Shops takes a bold step into the future and becomes Pennsylvania’s first dispensary to legally sell natural, unprocessed, pure dry-leaf marijuana!  The celebration and countdown to midnight starts at 9:30 pm tonight, Tuesday, July 31st in the parking lot and outdoor grounds of our King of Prussia location. Come and enjoy music, free food and drink, and plenty of free Keystone Shops swag, regardless of purchase. Maybe even get on the news as we celebrate in anticipation of the stroke of midnight on August 1st. A giant useless ball will NOT drop at midnight, but Keystone Shops’ outdoor grounds will be rocking in anticipation before the doors officially open at midnight.

What to Expect from Dry Leaf

The product will come in opaque containers, in increments of one gram and 3.5 grams. Seven-gram increments are expected to become available in the near future, but will not be available initially. Due to regulation, discounts cannot be given for volume purchases. Whether you buy one eighth or four, the price will remain the same. The initial rollout will feature products from five growers: Cresco Yeltrah, Standard Farms, Ilera Healthcare, Terrapin Pennsylvania and Holistic Farms. The second round of additional growers will release products the following week. More information on the second round of product will be released soon. Due to the state’s regulations, dry leaf products will not be able to be displayed, opened, or examined at the time of purchase. All sales will be final except in the event of a product recall.

Strains

Keystone Shops will have nearly every available strain from all five grower processors available for purchase day one. The five growers coming to market day one are Cresco Yeltrah, Holistic Farms, Ilera, Standard Farms, and Terrapin. There will be a wide variety of sativa, indica, hybrid, and high CBD strains available too.

Short Wait times

With all the excitement surrounding the arrival of dry-leaf, Keystone Shops expects higher-than-normal patient traffic, which could mean longer than usual wait times. However, Keystone is confident its extra staff and four points of sale at King if Prussia will easily handle the increase in patient visits. If you’re looking for a quick dispensary visit with a friendly, expertly trained, and knowledgeable staff, you can count on Keystone to get you in and out in no time.

We’ll open our doors from midnight to 1:30 am for the first ceremonial sales, then reopen at 10:00 am.Depending upon sales volume, regular hours may be extended. Stay tuned for more information on extended hours.

Returns

Keystone Shops will not be able to accept any returns of dry leaf products except in the event of a product recall. If you have a problem with your product in regards to weight or quality, we ask that you contact the grower directly.

Existing Product Lines Remain in Place & in Stock

For those patients who have found success with the products that we currently carry, and who may be worried about ongoing availability, have no fear. The Department of Health has required all growers to dedicate only a portion of their harvest to dry leaf form. This allocation-based methodology will ensure that other medically appropriate forms such as tinctures, capsules, and applicators will remain widely available.

Vaporization Only

Under current law, the only method for inhalation of dry leaf is vaporization. Patients may also use dry leaf to produce edibles, but smoking (or combustion) of the product for inhalation is still strictly prohibited. Burning medical marijuana for inhalation is not only unhealthy, but it  could jeopardize your continued participation in the program.

Ancillary Products

Keystone Shops will carry a limited assortment of dry leaf vaporizers that will be available for purchase beginning August 1st.

Limits

To ensure that enough medicine is available for the highest number of patients, the state has set a limit of 15 g per patient per week for the first two weeks of August.

Compliance

With the arrival of dry leaf, Keystone Shops will continue to be leaders in compliance. Each package will come with a label specific to each patient, stating that it is their medicine. Always keep your medical marijuana card on you, and the product in its original packaging when not being used. Your bag will be sealed, and you will be instructed not to open it until you are home. Remember not to drive or operate machinery until you know how medical marijuana affects you.
