How to become a patient in the Pennsylvania Medical Marijuana Program

1. Sign up online

2. Visit your doctor

3. Pay for your card

  • Return to the Medical Marijuana Registry and complete your application
  • Submit $50 fee for card; patients enrolled in Medicaid, PAC, CHIP, SNAP, and WIC may be eligible for a discount
  • You will receive your card via mail

4. Visit a dispensary

  • Once you receive your card in the mail, you may visit Keystone Shops or any other approved dispensary in the state of PA
  • Bring your state issued ID
  • First time patients and caregivers are welcome to a free consultation with a medical professional at the dispensary

Caregivers are designated individuals who have an MMJ caregiver card and may shop for and purchase product on a patient’s behalf. Caregivers have passed an FBI and criminal background check. A caregiver may have up to five patients. One patient may have up to two caregivers.
